A 28-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
Sarah-Jane Smith, of Kingsbury Walk, Great Cornard, near Sudbury, was charged by police following an incident in the village on Monday night.
Appearing before Sudbury magistrates this morning, she entered no plea to this charge and a second accusation of having a bladed article in a public place.
The case was sent to Ipswich Crown Court on July 3.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said a 27-year-old man from Great Cornard remained in a stable condition at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, following the incident.
