HE MAY be used to life on the farm and on the screen but today Jimmy Doherty is relishing his new role – as a father.
Jimmy and his wife Michaela welcomed their first child, a baby girl, into the world on Wednesday. She weighed 6lb 6oz and arrived two weeks ahead of her due date. She is yet to be named.
“We are over the moon – it’s the greatest gift you could ever receive,” he said. His wife was “delighted but exhausted.”
The couple met while filming the hit BBC2 show Jimmy’s Farm which tracked Mr Doherty as he built up his rare-breed pig farm and farm shop near Ipswich. They married in August last year.
