HEAVY overnight snowfall has forced the cancellation of Waveney District Council's refuse collections today.
The authority said the adverse weather conditions had made roads and pavement slippery and it was deemed too dangerous for crews to leave the depot this morning.
Collections have been postponed until conditions improve.
A spokesperson for Waveney District Council said: “If your bin is not emptied today, please leave it out for collection and we will endeavour to empty it during the next three days.
“This 'catch up' process may have a knock on effect on collections later in the week, so please leave you bin out until it is emptied.
“It is anticipated that the backlog will be cleared by midday on Saturday 29 March.”
The council's refuse collection team apologised for any inconvenience caused.
