FIREFIGHTERS were alerted to a house blaze after concerns people were trapped inside.

The fire broke out in Banham Road in Beccles at about 4.05pm.

Crews from Beccles, Lowestoft South and Bungay fire stations were called to the scene after reports of people unaccounted for.

They discovered the fire was in the front room of a semi-detached house.

Firefighters used breathing equipment to help them tackle the flames.

The incident was under control by 4.35pm.

A spokesman for the fire service said everyone feared to be inside the property have been accounted for.
