A BLAZE in the engine of a van carrying cylinders containing liquefied petroleum gas was extinguished by firefighters today.
The drama unfolded in Sproughton Road in Ipswich, close to the industrial estate, shortly after 12.30pm.
The open-backed van was carrying around 30 cylinders.
Two crews from Princes Street were sent to the scene and doused the flames within 20 minutes, managing to keep the fire contained in the engine area.
A police officer was sent to the fire as a precaution but was soon after stood down.
