A NEW television nature show filmed exclusively at Colchester Zoo will be screened on Monday.
The 20 episode series, presented by former Blue Peter star Konnie Huq, aims to give viewers a unique look at what goes on behind the scenes at the Stanway tourist attraction.
The show has been given full access to the work of the zoo's keepers, with two crews filming over the last three months in an effort to provide what is described as a “fascinating insight into what goes into running one of the busiest zoos in the country”.
Highlights of the series apparently include behind the scenes footage of the birth of Colchester Zoo's third baby aardvark and following young elephant Jambo on his relocation to a Spanish zoo, where viewers will be able to see how he settled into his new home.
The series also follows many of the latest animal births through the spring and early summer.
There will be 20 half hour episodes of Zoo Days broadcast on Channel Five every week at 6.30pm from June 9.
