COASTGUARDS were called after a boat was swamped by the tide on the beach at Holland Haven, near Clacton.
The 18ft vessel was being launched from a trailer when it was swamped by the high tide and sank at about 9.35am yesterday.
The boat's owner called 999 and Clacton coastguards went to the scene to monitor the situation and give safety advice.
Coastguards said the boat was recovered once the tide had started to go out.
