SEVERAL properties – including a petrol station and an ambulance base – have been affected by flooding due to a burst water main in Braintree.
At about 5.30pm fire crews from Braintree and Halstead were called out to help pump away the water which was affecting a number of other commercial units.
Fire crews used a light portable pump and hoses to divert and remove the water from the properties.
By 7pm the damaged water main had been isolated but crews remained at the scene pumping out the excess water.
The incident was over by 7.45pm.
