Peterborough Panthers v Belle Vue Aces
FOLLOWING a two week break in home fixtures, Panthers return with two matches in four days with the first being an ELB match against the Belle Vue Aces.
This match, sponsored by Stanair, sees both teams missing riders and both will be utilising rider replacement on the day. The Aces have also recently signed Tomasz Chrzanowski but information supplied by our visitors indicates he won't be riding on Thursday and the Aces have their own No.8 Josh Grajczonek on standby to ride at No.5.
Nevertheless Belle Vue have Krzysztof Kasprzak riding at No.1 - he scored 15 points in the ELA fixture - they boast two lively reserves in Panthers asset Ulrich Ostergaard and James Wright.
In addition ex-Panther Morten Risager, since joining the Aces, has seen his form shine and they also have a livewire in Danish U21 star Patrick Hougaard.
Panthers meanwhile will be likely missing two riders on Thursday as Mads Korneliussen is another likely casualty after withdrawing from last night's match after three rides at Wolverhampton.
Panthers team boss Trevor Swales is currently considering his options as to which rider he gets a guest for (Korneliussen or Vissing) and a final decision will made nearer the time.
Team manager Trevor Swales said: “I see this match as a must win and I expect the team to have a point to prove, I expect them to produce a convincing performance and put in 100% right from the start and show us they mean business, Belle Vue have strengthened up with the recent signing of Tomasz Chrzanowski, and they have some riders who ride the Showground, well but I expect our team come out on top and we have to put in a better performance.”
Promoter Mick Bratley said: “I will be bitterly disappointed if we can't convincingly win this one. I would like to see an all round improvement from our riders to give them some much needed confidence ahead of the difficult match on the horizon at home to Swindon.”
Owner Rick Frost said: “We must win this meeting; it's a simple as that.”
