Businesses from across Suffolk gathered to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice at the big event, which took place at Trinity Park in Ipswich.

The Breheny Civil Engineering team claimed the prize after cycling 10.73kms in the final round of the competition.

Breheny fought off fellow finalists Beagle Property, Howden Joinery and even beat a second team of their own to claim the bragging rights for the next 12 months.

Over the past couple of weeks, companies have been battling it out to cycle as far as they can on a static bike in an allotted time.

By taking part, each team has also pledged to raise a minimum of £350 for St Elizabeth Hospice, a charity which provides support for terminally ill people and their families.

The silver race was won by Crafted Media, and Corbel Support took home the bronze award.

The final also featured a CEO race which ended in a tie followed by a two minute ride-off, in which Shaun Collins from Beagle Property claimed first prize.

Perhaps the most popular event, the ‘mascot race’, was won by Pound the Hound from Ipswich Building Society for the second year in a row.

Dan Croft from Breheny also took home the crown for the fasted kilometer on the night, completing the distance in just 42 seconds.

SJ Middleton, corporate events manager at St Elizabeth Hospice said: “We’ve had a fantastic evening and well done to Breheny on their victory. Thanks really do go to everyone who has taken part in RideFest throughout February and March and helped raise money for the hospice.

“The charity needs to generate £10.5million a year to provide our services free of charge to our patients and the money raised by these dedicated businesses will really help us look after local people and their families. Here’s to RideFest 2019!”
