Broken thumb but Pedersen rides

WORLD Champion Nicki Pedersen says he will definitely ride in Saturday's European SGP at Leszno.There had been a doubt over him taking part after he broke his right thumb riding in the Swedish Elite League just over a week ago.

There had been a doubt over him taking part after he broke his right thumb riding in the Swedish Elite League just over a week ago.

Pedersen has been testing the thumb this week - and he admits the results have been encouraging.

Pedersen, quoted on his website www.nickipedersen.com, said: "It went very well. Of course, I have pain in my thumb when it comes to hard work, but the tests I did with Lisa (his physio) showed that the strength in my thumb is good.

"Lisa has said I can ride on Saturday - so now it is certain that I will race.”
