Bury St Edmunds: Armed police enter house after reports of “self harm” threat

POLICE armed with tasers forced their way into a house after a man apparently barricaded himself inside.

Officers were called to an address in Churchill Close at around 11.40am where they negotiated with the man, who was reported to be threatening to harm himself.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said that no-one else was thought to be in danger.

The 57-year-old was arrested for causing an affray and taken by ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital.
