FIREFIGHTERS were scrambled to a kitchen fire at a property in Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday evening.
The drama unfolded in Hickling Drive, Bury St Edmunds, at about 7.50pm and two fire crews from the town’s fire station were sent to the scene.
Bury wholetime crew arrived at 7.55pm and found that smoke was coming out of the property.
The second crew arrived at 8pm and firefighters then used one hosereel to tackle the blaze.
The blaze was extinguished at about 8.50pm yesterday and the crews then ventilated the property and made the area safe.
