GAS workers are currently out in one of Suffolk’s largest estates after a leak was reported.
A three-way traffic light system has been set up around the affected site in Beetons Way, Bury St Edmunds, while workers dig down to fix the broken pipe.
It is understood a member of the public reported the incident two days after smelling gas in the air.
National Grid sent its workers to the site and managed to find the source of the like in pipes beneath the roundabout which joins Beetons Way to St Olave’s Road.
A spokeswoman for National Grid said the works were expected to last until the end of the week.
