Police are appealing for information after a 14-year-old girl was approached by a man in Bury St Edmunds. The incident occurred at around 4pm yesterday, Thursday 10 October, in Springfield Road.

The girl was walking along the road when a man approached her and asked if she was single and would she go on a date with him. The girl replied no and walked off and the suspect walked away towards the nature reserve.

The man is described as white, aged in his late twenties to early thirties, of a slim build, around 5ft 11in tall with short brown hair. He was wearing a red top with a picture on the front and grey tracksuit bottoms. He is described as speaking with an English accent.
