RUSSELL Brand treated fans to an impromptu Morris Dancing display, just moments before he was due on stage.
The comic, who was on his way to perform at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds, yesterday, couldn’t resist joining the Bury Fair Women’s Morris group who were dancing on Angel Hill.
Bury Fair dancer Gayle Wade said Brand had lent “stardust” to their performance after he jumped out of a passing car to join in.
She said: “He really went for it - not exactly purist Morris dancing, but he has such a lot of energy and style. It was really exciting - I am a fan anyway, and now I like him even more, if he likes Morris dancing!”
His show at the theatre raised 6,500 for Focus 12.
