THE Rutland Arms Hotel in Newmarket has appointed a new general manager.
Paul Glashier, who will lead the 35-strong team at the former coaching inn, has extensive experience of working in the luxury hotel sector.
He joins the 46-room Rutland Arms, part of national hotel group Oxford Hotels & Inns, from The Old Gold House Hotel in Huddersfield.
Mr Glashier, whose career spans more than 20 years, is originally from Weybridge in Surrey and started out as a chef at The Park Lane Hotel in London.
He has held a number of management roles at hotel chains Forte, Macdonalds and Corus.
“I'm very much looking forward to leading an already successful team, developing the property and putting the Rutland Arms firmly on the map,” he said.
Mark Edwards, managing director of Oxford Hotels & Inns, who operates 60 hotels nationwide, said they were pleased to welcome him to the team.
“Paul has many years' experience working at a number of high-profile hotel groups and therefore brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to our business,” he said.
