An Essex-based stainless steel rigging manufacturer has celebrated 10 years in the USA with a sailing trip down the Hudson River in New York.
Sta-Lok Terminals based in Mistley, near Manningtree, is the official rigging supplier for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and took guests on a once-in-a-lifetime trip which included a talk by Clipper race director Mark Light.
The firm, which has been going for 45 years, manufactures all of its stainless steel fittings and rods for the marine, energy, construction and safety industries from its Essex factory. These are sold all around the world and have been used on iconic buildings including Portcullis house in Westminster, Millennium Bridge and President Clinton’s Library in Arkansas.
Race chairman Sir Robin Knox-Johnson said: “With more than 40 years’ experience providing rigging hardware, we are pleased to have Sta-Lok as our first official standing rigging partner.”
