A study of 300 farmers has found 74% were more likely to consider diversifying in response to Brexit.
Organisers of the Farm Business Innovation Show, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on November 8 and 9, predict this number will continue to grow as we approach the split.
Another study being carried out through registration to the show found that of close to 3000 farmers, rural business owners, estate and and owners polled, 85% are more likely to diversify due to Brexit.
“While there is no denying that the world of rural enterprise is at a crossroads, this can either be seen as a problem or an opportunity,” organisers said.
“Many farmers are turning just one field into something like a go-kart track or paintball battlefield and turning enough profit from that to keep the rest of the traditional farm going.” To register for the show, go to www.farmbusinessshow.co.uk
