Suffolk and Essex food producers are set to judged by a national panel in the Produce Awards 2017 run by delicious. magazine.
The five eastern England finalists in the competition are: Halesworth-based Hillfarm Oils’ Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil, Colchester-based Lodge Farm Honey, Lemon Curd Ice Cream from Hadley’s Dairy Products in Colchester, and Free Range Whole Bird from Sutton Hoo Chicken, near Woodbridge, along with Hedgerow Harvest from Old Rectory Preserves in Norfolk.
Judges in the national stage of the competition include food writer and critic Matthew Fort, food presenter and chef Andi Oliver. John Farrand, managing director of The Guild of Fine Food, food writer and cook Lucas Hollweg, social media blogger Clerkenwell Boy, Aggie MacKenzie, who was co-presenter of Channel 4’s How Clean is Your House, and food writer and journalist Sue Quinn. The winners will be announced in October.
