A former Essex garden design student has scooped an accolade.
Writtle University College graduate, James Lanwarne of Lanwarne Landscapes, took a Silver Gilt and Best Construction in Show at this year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Live in Birmingham.
James, who is originally from Essex, competed against five other teams as part of the Association of Professional Landscapers Show Garden competition.
The Contemporary Bee and Butterfly Garden is Lanwarne Landscapes’ first show garden.
“I’ve always wanted to exhibit a show Garden at a high profile event like BBC Gardeners’ World Live. I will always be grateful to Writtle University College for teaching me a new outlook on design and the landscape industry,” said James.
The garden, part sponsored by Writtle University College, was designed for a couple who work long hours and have an active social life, so need a relaxing outdoor space.
