Three Suffolk primary schools will tough it out for a chance to be crowned Suffolk Farming School of the Year at Trinity Park on Thursday.
The finalists – from Acton, Bawdsey and Saxmundham primary schools – will deliver their presentations on stage at the Suffolk Show, telling the visiting public and judges everything they learned during the competition.
All 20 participating schools will display their ‘tractor-of-the-future’ models – made from recyclable food packaging for the first round.
Five shortlisted schools attended a learning day at Trinity Park before the final three were chosen.
Bawdsey pupils designed a tractor programmable to be self-propelled. The Year Four group will be joined by teacher Helen Rankin on the day.
Katie Butler, headteacher at Bawdsey Primary School, said: “We’re extremely proud of all their efforts to find out about tractors from the past – and in the future too.”
