Suffolk-based speedway tour specialist Travel Plus Tours has opened new offices following a change of ownership.
Founder James Easter, a former manager of the USA and Australia speedway teams and currently promotor at Mildenhall, is stepping back from the day-to-day running of the company which he has run for 36 years.
David Goodchild, who has been his right-hand man for more than 12 years, is the new owner of the company, although James will remain as an ambassador for the brand and still be actively involved in the planning of tours.
Mr Goodchild, who has opened a new office in East Bergholt, said his approach was very much “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it”.
“Filling James Easter’s shoes will be a huge ask,” he said: “Travel Plus has delivered top quality speedway tours, using excellent hotels, and has no plans to change that approach.”
Travel Plus Tours’ extensive programme of tours for 2017 was filling up fast, he added, and a 2018 summer tour to the USA will be launched at this year’s UK Grand Prix in Cardiff.
