The Essex Young Farmers Country Show is back on Sunday, May 17, at Boyton Hall, Roxwell, near Chelmsford on the A1060, writes Lo Kent.
It is promising to be bigger and better than ever with Essex Young Farmers inviting you to get involved in the Main Ring action with #TractorCrush. Tweet us which item you’d most like to crush with a massive tractor at #TractorCrush.
Our favourite suggestions will win VIP tickets to go to the show and get to crush their item in front of a huge crowd, in the Main Ring at 1:15pm. Gates open for a fun filled family day out at 9.30am with a whole host of tradestands, displays, exhibitors and fantastic attractions ready to keep you entertained.
The day promises to thrill, entertain and educate visitors in farming and rural life. A family favourite without a doubt is the Livestock and Equine Areas where children can watch and learn about animals large and small.
There will be live demonstrations in the Forestry Area and Game Fair and for those who love big machines take a trip round the Steam Engines and Vintage Tractors.
Children have no time to get bored at the show with funfair rides and fun activities round every corner.
For those wishing to take in the charm and atmosphere of the show do not miss the Craft Hall. Visitors can also enjoy culinary delights in the Food Festival - home to an abundance of local and specialist food producers, and get a real feel about Essex Young Farmers from the our Exhibition Hall and the highly competitive and passionate inter-club tug of war competition.
The show is organised solely by dedicated volunteers aged 16-26 years from our 12 Young Farmers Clubs around the county.
Anyone wishing to join the fun should visit our Publicity Marquee.
Show chairman Rob Sykes said: “Essex Young Farmers Country Show is culmination of over a year’s hard work by a committee of around 40 Young Farmers.
“We are very proud to deliver a high class family day out, that showcases the very best of rural life from all over Essex.”
