A holiday lettings agency says it has seen a surge in bookings this year – indicating that this part of the country remains as popular as ever for those wanting to get away and take a break.

Best of Suffolk has now brought the launch of its 2014 availability forward by a month in a bid to cope with the increased demand.

Naomi Tarry, who runs the company with her husband, Alex, from their headquarters in Badingham, near Framlingham, said: “At a time when last-minute bookings have become more and more popular, it is a heartening sign that our strategy of taking care of our repeat customers is working.

“Earlier this year we launched a loyalty club for repeat customers and we’ve given them priority access to 2014 bookings, along with other benefits for booking early.

“The marketplace for holiday cottage bookings continues to evolve as consumer habits change, and we monitor this monthly, weekly and daily and strategically invest in our business so that we stay ahead.”

The 2014 bookings are already revealing certain trends. Holiday cottages in Suffolk with sea views are the first to go, with some seafront properties already fully booked for the 2014 summer holidays after only a couple of days.

Wi-fi is also fast becoming a “must-have” when booking a holiday cottage – with many more people wanting easy access to the internet.

Best of Suffolk has around 250 holiday cottages, with wi-fi installed at 80% of its properties, although more and more are coming on line each month.
