HOW do you fancy taking part in the Olympics?
Well, perhaps not quite the Olympics which will get under way in London next summer, but the Office Olympics, which can transform you and your work colleagues into sporting superstars just for the day.
The EADT and Ensors have joined forces to launch the Office Olympics, bringing together utter non-athletes to compete in a series of physically and mentally undemanding challenges.
Danny Clifford, Ensors managing partner and Office Olympics team coach, said: “We have designed six disciplines that will test your staff’s fitness levels and co-ordination in no way whatsoever. Sense of humour will, however, be tested to the maximum!
“Ensors’ crack team of sportsmen and women are already in training. Diets are not being monitored and training regimes are being ruthlessly ignored – all while maintaining client service.’’
Terry Hunt, EADT editor, said: “The time has come for our team. Our utter devotion to a regime of total non-training will surely pay its own un-athletic dividends.’’
Is your business up to the challenge? Can you and your colleagues beat the crack Ensors and EADT teams? If so, then go to the Office Olympics page on the EADT website. You’ll find it at www.eadt.co.uk/sport/olympics-london-calling/office-olympics which is where you can register your team.
There will be a maximum of 25 entrants on a first come, first served basis. The closing date for entries is January 1, 2012.
In the words of Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympic Games, “the most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part.’’
Or, in the memorable words of Delia Smith: “Let’s be ‘avin’ you!’’
