SWEDISH businessman Dan Sten Olsson, owner and chief executive of Britain’s biggest ferry company Stena Line, which operates out of ports including Harwich International, has been presented with the CBE in recognition of his long-standing business relations with the UK.
He received his award from the Earl of Wessex on board the British warship HMS Kent while the vessel was in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, earlier this month for the royal wedding of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.
Mr Olsson said: “It is a tremendous honour to receive the CBE and I would like to say how delighted I am to accept such a prestigious accolade.
“I know there are a limited number of recipients of this award which makes it all the more special and, on behalf of my family and business colleagues, I would like to say how grateful we are for the support we have received in the United Kingdom, not only in a commercial sense but also from British society in general.”
