READERS of a US travel magazine have voted an all-business class transatlantic company which flies out of Stansted as its second favourite international airline.

Maxjet was chosen ahead of more than 300 airlines in a 2007 survey of readers of Travel & Leisure magazine. The top spot went to perennial favourite Singapore Airlines, which rated first last year.

It was the first time Maxjet had been cited in the magazines international airline survey.

“For an airline that started flights in 2005, this is a significant honour,” said Maxjet chief executive Bill Stockbridge.

“We are thrilled that our passengers rate our low-fare business class alongside the best names in the business.”

The airline rankings are based on cabin comfort, food, in-flight service, customer service and value.
