AMANDA Sturgeon, former chief executive of Mid-Anglian Enterprise Agency Ltd, has taken over as Train to Gain manager at West Suffolk College.

Before joining MENTA, Ms Sturgeon was a bank manager with a business portfolio.

“Business has always been my field, so I have been able to draw on my contacts from MENTA and the bank in this role. I am also able to focus on an area that I was very keen on at MENTA, which is upskilling people. That was the thing that attracted me to the post,” she said.

She is responsible for managing the Suffolk Workforce Development Consortium, made up of four further education colleges - West Suffolk, Lowestoft, Otley and Suffolk College, the British Racing School, WS Training, Meat East Anglia Trades and YMCA Training.
