THE Port of Felixstowe's Trinity Terminal has been named “Freight Facility of the Year” at the annual IFW Freighting Industry Awards. Trinity Container Terminal is the largest container handling facility in the UK, with the longest continuous quay at 2,354 metres and a stacking capacity of 66,237 standard containers.

Trinity Container Terminal is the largest container handling facility in the UK, with the longest continuous quay at 2,354 metres and a stacking capacity of 66,237 standard containers.

Chris Lewis, chief executive of Hutchison Ports (UK) Ltd, which includes the Port of Felixstowe said: “We are extremely pleased to have been recognised by the Industry and to be given this award. We are very proud of Trinity Terminal, and to our dedicated employees for the role they play in keeping the UK economy running smoothly.

“The demand for goods in the UK is increasing at a very steady rate, and it is important that facilities such as Trinity Terminal are able to keep up with the pace”

The awards, run by trade publication International Freighting Weekly, were held at the Honourable Artillery Company grounds in London, where the Port of Felixstowe's trophy was collected by Trinity Terminal manager Alistair Campbell.
