WOODBRIDGE electrical apprentice Ben Corke is celebrating after scooping a regional award.
Mr Corke, 20, was crowned East of England's Best Apprentice by training firm JTL at a ceremony held at Chilford Hall in Cambridgshire.
He beat off eight other hopefuls after he was nominated for the award by his JTL training officer for his continued hard work and dedication to his apprenticeship training.
He described the award as “a real honour”.
“I can't thank enough my JTL mentor Ron Hilditch and employer Plant Electrical and Plumbing, who have supported me to gain the necessary skills and experience which will help me in the future,” he said.
“They have inspired and encouraged me to recognise what I can achieve as an electrician.”
Richard Plant, owner of Plant Electrial and Plumbing said: “Ben has done really well and we are very proud of him at Plant Electrical and Plumbing. It's great to see him develop and be recognised in the region. He is a great addition to the team and an asset to the company.”
