Foreign Secretary and leading “Brexit” campaigner Boris Johnson visited Suffolk yesterday to meet business leaders from around the county.
Mr Johnson was guest speaker at an Ipswich Suffolk Business Club lunch, held at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall, near Ipswich, attend by more than 200 club members and guests.
He shared his positive view of the prospects for the UK economy and praised the achievements of a number of Suffolk businesses, as well as speaking to individual members and guests at their tables.
Mr Johnson was fulfilling an engagement agreed several months ago, before the European Union referendum and his subsequent appointment to the Cabinet.
He travelled to Suffolk direct from Westminter, where he had earlier appeared before the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee.
Club chairman Clive Underdown said: “I am thrilled Boris was able to attend one of our club events. As a high-profile politician with a wealth of experience, he offered insight relevant to companies in the region.”
