The Fox Inn in Bury St Edmunds is being taken over by major pub and brewing company Greene King.
The Fox, which has been run by Sheila and Ron Blackmore since 2004, will become a Greene King managed pub from July 1.
The Eastgate Street pub, which will become an old English inn, will be closed for two weeks from July 1 for a refurbishment.
