AUCTION centre Manheim Auctions has appointed Chris Cush as its general manager.

The centre, covering 52 acres is already the largest in Europe, and is in the final stages of a major redevelopment which includes a radical change in the auction sales format.

A new US-style four-lane hall will enable the centre of offer twice as many vehicles to its buyers at prime selling times.

Mr Cush has played a key management role in the project since its announcement at the end of last year and moves from his previous role as regional operations manager for Manheim's southern auction centre.

He will now oversee the final build stages at Colchester before the official opening of the new facility, scheduled for September 2007.
