THE Essex Golf & Country Club at Earls Colne, near Colchester, has become the first tourism business in the East of England to sign up to a Fair Price Charter launched by East of England Tourism (EET) ahead of the London 2012 Olympics.
EET is aiming to ensure that tourism profits from the games are not achieved at the cost of the region’s wider reputation.
Besides expecting value for money, visitors also want reassurance that the price they pay up front will not be compromised by late discounting, says EET.
The Fair Price Charter will allow decision makers to identify accommodation providers and venues in the East of England which have made a commitment to reasonable and fair trading terms in 2012.
The charter is also recognised by the London 2012 Organising Committee of the Olympic Games, VisitBritain and the British Hospitality Association. Accommodation providers and venues can sign up online at www.eet.org.uk/fpc .
