Organisers have announced the latest date for a business charity running event that has raised over a half a million pounds for good causes over the years.

This year’s Race4Business, organised by the Chelmsford office of top 100 law firm Birketts, is set to take place on Thursday June 15.

The 3.5 mile running race through the town is open to individuals and teams from the Essex business community and beyond, and will this year raise funds for SNAP (Special Needs And Parents), a charity that helps Essex families with children and young people who have any special need or disability.

Head of Birketts’ corporate and commercial team in Chelmsford, Rafael Ruiz, said: “Race4Business, which attracts over 1,000 participants of all abilities each year, was first run in 1998. It has gone on to become a major event in the Chelmsford calendar for local businesses, raising over £500,000 for good causes along the way.

“Every entrant in the race makes a difference but as well as being a great opportunity for businesses to raise funds, the race is a fun way for staff members to join together as a team, and to meet other like-minded local businesses.”

Manager of SNAP Christina Stubbs said the charity was “absolutely thrilled” to have been chosen as this year’s charity partner. She added that over the past 20 years the charity has helped more than 4,000 families who have a child with special needs.
