Mattressman founder Andrew Kerry has teamed up with Hughes Electrical in a venture aimed at getting his new computer tablet in the shops in time for Christmas.

Mr Kerry has branched into the world of technology with the development of the ‘Andy Pad’ tablet which he hopes will offer a low cost alternative to the i-pad.

The tie-up means that both the Andy Pad and the Andy Pad Pro will be available through 10 Hughes and three Bennetts stores across East Anglia.

Mark Ferdani, Bennetts General Manager, said: “We knew Andrew Kerry was looking for a partner to retail his new devices so we made an approach and are delighted to have been able to formalise the tie-up. The Andy Pads have been a great success and are our best selling tablet in our Hall Road store.”

Mr Kerry said: “While available through our own website we always wanted to link up with a specialist retailer and as far as we were concerned the Hughes Electrical Group ticked all the boxes; they have a great reputation and very strong brand values based on excellent customer service and like us are locally based. I am sure the relationship can only go from strength to strength.”
