1 Accounts Online has been shortlisted in two categories of the British Accountancy Awards, which are to be announced at a ceremony in London later this month.

The firm, launched by Paul Donnon in January this year, is among the finalists in both the Start Up and Online Accounting categories.

1 Accounts Online specialises in the provision of online accountancy services for small and medium sized enterprises across the eastern region.

The British Accountancy Awards, to be held at The Brewery in central London on November 25, will be attended by around 500 guests from accountancy practices across the UK.

Mr Donno said: “These awards are held in high regard within the industry and we are so excited to have been shortlisted for not just one but two categories.

“We’re not under any illusions though, the competition is tough. We are up against six other companies in the Start Up category and seven for Online Accounting!

“We’re looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic night, at a great venue, rubbing shoulders with our peers and hopefully taking advantage of some interesting networking opportunities. The icing on the cake will be if we walk away with at least one trophy.”

Earlier this year, 1 Accounts Online was named Online Provider of the Year by accountancy and payroll software solutions supplier Sage, acknowledging its success in promoting the cloud-based accounting package Sage One, which enables businesses to manage their accounts online around the clock wherever they are provided they have access to the internet.

Mr Donno has been working with Sage for more than 20 years and last month was invited by company software firm to take part in a Google Hangout, a video chat platform, to discuss the 1 Accounts website with

Paul Lancaster and Steven Jones from Sage UK and Ireland.

During the hangout, Paul Lancaster said: “In my view Paul is a perfect example of what we want accountants to be doing with Sage One.”
