A company that powers up some of Suffolk’s biggest festivals and events has promoted their warehouse manager to take on the new role of senior project engineer. Gofer, a company based in Ipswich which supplies temporary electrical distribution and generators for events, have just promoted 37 year old Richard Wilson. He previously worked for Gofer between 1999 and 2006 and has been back working at Gofer since 2014.

Elizabeth Forsdikem, who took over Gofer with her husband in May 2016, said: “The company has grown and we have needed to make changes within the staffing structure to meet the growing changes of the business. We moved Richard away from the warehouse manager role which did not truly reflect the work he was doing or was capable of doing. This season he has embraced his new role, taking responsibility of planning the power requirements and the challenges that come with the ownership of projects.”

Mrs Forsdikem added that Gofer has provided Mr Wilson with further training to make sure his skills meet the requirements of the job. “And he hasn’t let his dyslexia hold him back.”
