ScottishPower Renewables has appointed Felixstowe-based agency Pier to handle PR for its East Anglia One offshore wind farm project.
Following a four-way competitive pitch, Pier has been selected to deliver a multi-faceted campaign to drive awareness of ScottishPower Renewables as an investor in the East Anglia region and to position the company as a leader in the offshore wind energy industry.
Media relations will form a significant part of the campaign, on a local, regional and national level, with Pier being tasked to deliver local media relations support for the development of the project.
Paul Ferguson, media relations manager for ScottishPower, said: “Pier clearly understands the local media market and put forward real evidence of successful delivery in our sector.”
Kate Bowden Smith, director at Pier, added: “Having worked in the offshore renewables sector for many years, we are thrilled that our expertise has been recognised and are looking forward to implementing a strategy that meets ScottishPower Renewables’ objectives and really showcases the opportunites East Anglia One brings to the eastern region.”
