CONTRACTORS and suppliers involved in a refurbishment of the Moot Hall within Colchester’s Town Hall have met on site to view the completed work.

Colchester decorating company Coldec spent eight weeks in the hall with 12 painters. The intricate work involved the use of a specialist technique to achieve a two-tone effect on the hall’s columns while, in some areas, detailing was painted in gold.

More than 450 litres of paint was supplied for the project by Colchester building supplies company Kent Blaxill. Main contractor for the refurbishment was Bakers of Danbury.

Other prestigious jobs for Coldec include St Paul’s Cathedral in London where it has been working for 12 years as part of an ongoing redecoration programme.
