Suffolk entrepreneur Guy Nicholls has re-entered the plant hire sector, 30 months on from his sale of Ipswich-based Fork Rent which is now part of Ardent Hire.

Mr Nicholls, whose TRU7 Group is based at the Sinks Pit quarry site in Kesgrave, has now launched TRU Plant, offering a comprehensive rage of equipment – including excavators, dumpers, telehandlers and ancillary equipment – on a self-drive or operator basis.

The new business joins other group companies including Trucks R Us, Tippers R Us, CDC Demolition and Bag Agg, with TRU7 employing around 100 people across its operations.

Mr Nicholls said: “The plant hire world is one that I know and love and the team here at TRU7 is as passionate as I am.

“Together, we know we have the resources, knowledge attitude and, most importantly, the equipment to put TRU PLANT on the map as a major player in the hire industry.”
