The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) is celebrating after scooping an award for its wildlife management and conservation work in Europe.
The Jan Van Haaften International Union of Game Biologists (IUGB) Award for Wildlife Management in Europe was presented to the trust at a ceremony following a three-day conference in Montpellier, France, in August.
GWCT scientists Roger Draycott, Nicholas Aebischer, Julie Ewald, Ryan Burrell, Mike Short, Francis Buner, Dave Baines and Sonja Ludwig picked up the accolade. Dr Draycott, who is head of advisory services at GWCT, said: “The GWCT is very honoured to receive this award and recognition from fellow European game and wildlife scientists and managers.”
The judging panel consisted of members of the Congress Scientific Committee and the European IUGB past, acting and elect presidents.
