THE local business community is being urged to support St Elizabeth Hospice's 20th anniversary ball.

The black-tie event, taking place on Saturday, September 12 at Trinity Park, Ipswich, starting with a champagne reception at 7.15pm, will include fine dining, live music from Soul Town Chic, dancing and a fundraising auction with prizes including a box at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground and use of a luxury apartment in Majorca.

Tickets, priced at 65, are selling fast and are being allocated on a first come first served basis with many local businesses already represented.

Janice Hulett, St Elizabeth Hospice's community and corporate fundraising manager, said: “Our ball is a key event in our fundraising and social calendar but this year's is even more special as it marks our 20th anniversary.

“It is going to be a wonderful evening and a very enjoyable way for local businesspeople to show their support for the hospice and the work it has been continuing to do since 1989 to help patients with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers.”

St Elizabeth Hospice is an independent charity and now costs 5.9 million a year to run. To book tickets to the ball or for more information contact Rachael Mittell, the hospice's community fundraiser, on 01473 723600.
