An Ipswich software development firm is celebrating the rapid growth of its workforce.

IJYI has grown by a third in a month due to the “phenomenal” success of the team, which has won multiple contracts.

Mark Lane and Venu Boya join as quality engineers, Oliver Lynch, David Freeman and Alex Conway as senior developers, and Gemma Brown as executive assistant.

The firm, which was launched in 2014 and specialises in software development, DevOps and cloud services, is a member of TechEast, whose aim is to make the East of England the next global tech cluster.

Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea-based law firm Thompson Smith and Puxon has said farewell to one of its directors after 37 years with the firm.

Clinical negligence solicitor Julian Wilson qualified as a barrister and joined TSP in 1981.

He became a partner in the firm and head of the litigation team in 1985 and was managing partner and finance director for 25 years to 2016. Among the notable cases he has worked on was legal landmark Barrett v Enfield London Borough Council which let to a change in the law on children in care.

Martlesham-based solicitors Barker Gotelee is strengthening its property team with a new partner and new solicitor.

Christopher Green has been appointed partner after just a year at the firm, working in commercial property, and specifically land development, Christopher. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the sector.

Miles Coates joins as a property solicitor, specialising in commercial property, with a particular interest in the agricultural sector.

Mendlesham coach operator Galloway Coach Travel has welcomed five new drivers who have successfully completed their training and passed their Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV)licence tests.

The five areAnthony Deabill, Andrew Bailey, Dan Challis, Elizabeth Phillips and Suzie Sands.

Staff manager Marc Button said the firm recognised a sector shortage. “We regularly recruit potential new drivers into our academy,” he said.

Two town centre businessment have joined the board of Business Improvement District (BID) organisation Our Bury St Edmunds.

Paul Brown and Rob Billett were formally elected into the voluntary roles at the BID’s annual general meeting in June.

Paul owns the Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing shirt brand which is manufactured in Suffolk. Rob is a representative of menswear store Trotter and Deane.

Chairman Garry Easter said he was “delighted” they had joined.

Felixstowe trade and compliance specialist Vartan has appointed Steven Eley as a consultant.

Steven has a wealth of hands-on experience in risk management and quality standards and has recently completed his National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) exam in health and safety leadership excellence.

He has more than 15 years’ experience in the logistics sector.

Managing director Miles Vartan said the appointment was part of a growth strategy.
