A keen collector of Fordson tractors, one of which dates back to 1924, is selling them off.
Tony Fuller, of The Orchard Workshop, Risby, Welham Lane, Bury St Edmunds, has accumulated an array of mainly Model F and Model N versions of the vehicle, which were forerunners of the ‘Standard Fordson’. Now the collection is being offered up for sale today through auctioneer Peter Crichton.
Tony, who was born into a Suffolk farming family, spent many happy hours riding his father’s Orange Fordson N. On leaving school, he worked for ICI paint factory in Stowmarket, but eventually returned to his roots, initially in agricultural sales, and later running his own company specialising in agricultural heating and ventilation. After downsizing and semi-retirement, he fulfilled his ambition to own Fordson N, the start of his collection.
His retirement sale takes place at his workshop from 11am on Saturday, September 29.
