AN historic hotel has made it to the finals of a national awards event.
The 15th century Swan at Lavenham will be vying for top spot in the Large Hotel of the Year category of the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2013 on May 20, where it is guaranteed to scoop a gold, silver, bronze or highly commended award.
Visit England chief executive James Berresford said: “We received 320 applications and the quality of submissions was higher than ever. It is therefore no small achievement for The Swan at Lavenham to become a finalist.
General manager Ingo Wiangke said: “This is an outstanding achievement and is testament to our team’s dedication.”
The full list of finalists in the VisitEngland Awards is due to be announced today.
