Regional law firm Ashton KCJ has advised the shareholders of Beam Group over its sale to an major distribution company, for an undisclosed sum,

Beam, a leading distributor of premium small electrical kitchen appliances, is based at Swavesey in Cambridgeshire.

The Ashton KCJ team was led by corporate partner Mark Whittaker with assistance from LeAnne Gilmore-Dean (corporate), Ron Clare (commercial property) and Claire Sleep (employment).

David Speet, managing director of Beam Group, said: “Mark and his team enabled us to complete the sale in record time. We had complete peace of mind knowing that a member of the Ashton KCJ team was always available to advise on specific issues.”

Mark Whittaker said: “It was a pleasure working with David and Helen at Beam to help them achieve a fantastic result in a very short space of time.

“From the moment we were instructed, to completion of the sale was achieved in a little over five weeks. It was great that the team here were able to respond so quickly and deliver a smooth transaction in such a quick turn around. This is a real testament to the willingness of everybody to get stuck-in.”

He added: “This deal represents another significant corporate transaction for the team in 2014/15 and is a real pat on the back for all the hard work put in by everybody over the last 12 to18 months.”

Ashton KCJ, which employs 300 people at offices in Ipswich, Cambridge, Norwich, Bury St Edmunds, Felixstowe and Thetford, said the purchaser of Beam wished to remain anonymous.
