Suffolk Yacht Harbour will be among the exhibitors at the London Boat Show, which opens on Friday and runs until January 15.

The independent, privately-owned marina, on the River Orwell at Levington, near Ipswich, is attending the event to highlight its ongoing development plans, including current work to renovate its shower block facilities for berth-holders and visitors.

Managing director Jonathan Dyke said: “Since Suffolk Yacht Harbour was founded in 1967, the marina has grown from 12 acres and 40 berths into a 550-berth yachting hub.

“As the east coast’s premier marine exhibition, the London Boat Show is the ideal platform to showcase everything Suffolk Yacht Harbour has to offer.”

Building work on the toilet and shower block at Suffolk Yacht Harbour began during the autumn, as part of a wider refurbishment project to provide quality facilities for marina users and berth holders,

Due to be completed in February, the project involves the demolition of everything but the current walls, which will then be raised to support a new vaulted ceiling to allow maximum light and ventilation.

The new-look building has been designed to be both contemporary and practical, featuring individual wet and dry areas as well as under floor heating, LED lighting and modern fittings.

Other East Anglian companies exhibiting at the Londo Boat Show include Anglia Yacht Brokerage, Broom Marine Services, East Anglian Sea School, Haines Marine, Jeckells – The Sailmakers and Richardson’s Boating Holidays.
