The 800 workers at the power station had their pick of the fine local produce on offer which ranged from potatoes harvested that morning to flour milled just a few miles from Sizewell.

Among those taking part was Rendlesham-based sauce-making company Stokes, Elmwood Nurseries, Munchy Seeds, Maple Farm, Purely Pesto, Stokes and Aldeburgh Honey. All the participating businesses were based within 15 miles of the power station.

Jessica Burch of Purely Pesto said: “We are based in Leiston so we were keen to come along to Sizewell B today as the station is so close to us. This is one of the more unusual venues we’ve been to and certainly the one with the most security. Sizewell B employees have been really supportive of the event.”

The event was held by the power station’s ‘Green Team’ which promote environmental awareness through events across the year.
